The
Beatles performed their last concert of the North
American Tour at the Cow Palace, San Francisco. The pandemonium
generated by 56,000 screaming fans at
their first performance (August 15, 1965) of The Beatles' Second
concert tour of America at Shea Stadium, New York was repeated at the
Cow Palace. The Beatles were
seen by approximately 30,000 fans in two shows on August 31, 1965. Part
way through
their standard 12 song set, an unruly crowd managed to push forward and
rush
the stage causing the fainting of many fans while a fleeing Fab Four
had to wait backstage
until the frenzy diminished. The Beatles were visited backstage by
Johnny Cash and
Joan Baez. This was the Beatles second time at the Cow Palace. On
August 19, 1964 the "Fab Four" began their one month tour of Canada and
the United States at the Palace.
